The Suzuki Swift, or what I call the new Hyundai Excel. Over the past few years you’ve seen them everywhere either in their standard trim, or most likely in a modified way. Having been in a Swift quite a number of times, they aren’t bad little cars, and Suzuki has released the new Sport variant.

The engine is a 1.6litre producing a surprising 100kW, which means a good power to weight ratio available in a 6-speed manual or automatic with F1 flappy paddles whilst still producing decent fuel economy.

Visually the Sport has larger 17 inch alloy rims, rear spoiler, side under spoilers, dual exhausts, 7 airbags and a front bumper and grill which will scare even the bravest of small compacts.

Prices we’ve seen for the new model are between $26,000 and $30,000.

We look forward to our chance to drive the Suzuki Swift Sport
