That’s right, the hot hatch which everyone is talking about just got official pricing from BMW Australia.

The brand new 1 series topping M135i will arrive in Australian showrooms in October with a starting price of $68,400.

Since BMW unveiled the M135i which is a part of the M Performance Automobiles range there has been a lot of interest here and around the world. The tech heavy twin turbo 3litre engine delivers 235kW of power with an impressive 450Nm of torque strapped to a 6-speed manual (comes as standard).

Performance wise the M135i will launch from 0-100km/h in just 5.1 seconds and use just 8.0L/100km according to EU test results. Saying that if you’re worried about fuel economy in a car like this perhaps you’re looking at the wrong car. It’s also worth noting that this will be the first M Performance Automobile which is not a diesel powered engine, yet this is your typical high-performance petrol model.

Features wise this car is pretty loaded (though the non-standard options list would have you thinking otherwise!) with Bi-Xenon headlights, interior lights package, voice control, Bluetooth and the HiFi Loudspeaker system as well as the M treatment with a full M aerodynamics body kit, anthracite individual roof liner, sports seats, M leather steering wheel and well you get the hint right?

Production started in July and deliveries start in October, so if you’re keen on the M135i like we are to get behind the steering wheel make sure you pop into your local BMW dealer as $68,400 is in our eyes not a bad deal for this pocket rocket!
