Looks like Holden wants to make their Cruze even more practical by adding a wagon to the line-up within the next 12months which currently consists of a sedan and hatch. Unlike the sedan however the new addition will be built in South Korea.

Being a wagon, the new body will be longer (by 16.5cm), and have a larger capacity than the hatch boosting from 413 litres to 500 litres. With the seats down 1500 litres of load space is available, an additional 246 litres over the hatch

A new engine will also be appearing alongside the launch of the wagon. It will be a 1.7-litre turbo diesel with 97kW of power and stop-start technology. Even though this hasn’t been announced for the Australian market, it is anticipated that the engine will debut here.

It is also anticipated that along with the launch of the wagon a facelift for the range will come. Including a new look headlight and fog-light design.

The car is expected to be officially unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
