Fiat Australia has confirmed that the ‘most powerful 595 produced’ will be making its way to Australia. Only 50 examples of the limited edition Fiat Abarth 595 50th Anniversary will be arriving and will be priced from $45,000.

“Without doubt the Abarth 595 is an inspirational car for enthusiasts and we’re delighted to have secured 56 ‘50th Anniversary’ models for Australian customers,” revealed Veronica Johns, President and CEO of Fiat Chrysler Australia.

“We’re sure some will be snapped-up by collectors but equally, those with a passion for iconic high-performance Italian cars will find the Abarth 595 ‘50th Anniversary’ comprehensively equipped and a delight to drive every day.”

Powering this little Fiat will be a turbocharged 1.4-litre T-Jet engine that has been boosted to 132kW of power and 250Nm of torque. During every day driving, not all of this power will be available. All power is enabled when the ‘Sport’ button is select.

The extra power comes from an adjustment to the ECU mapping and turbocharger boost pressure.

There’s also a five-speed mechanical gearbox, a 0-100km/h sprint time of less than 7 seconds, and a 225km/h top speed.

Fiat will be distinguishing this limited edition from other Abarths with red leather sports seats, red stitching, inserts and historical logo in the steering wheel.

Finally to complete the package, Fiat has produced a range of unique accessories to commemorate the Abarth 595 ‘50th Anniversary and which are included as standard – a ‘595’ vintage car cover (very handy for those without off-street parking),’ 595 50⁰ Anniversario’ Italian Independent special edition sunglasses and ‘595 50⁰ Anniversario’ dedicated Tramontaro luggage.
