During our coverage of the 2012 Geneva Auto Show it seems we let one slip through the net; the 2013 Lotus Exige Roadster!

Lotus has taken a pair of tin snips to the standard Lotus Exige to create the first Exige with a soft top (that is, presumably, manually operated in an effort to keep the model trim). This means you can feel the wind in your hair while your neck snaps in the circa 4.0 seconds it takes the car to reach 100km/h.

The car will weigh approximately 1100kg and is powered by the same 3.5-litre, Toyota derived V6 as the regular coupe, ensuring the same performance and handling that has made the car an ultimate track-day weapon.

However, the car will be offered with the option of Lotus’ SPS automated manual transmission as well as the regular manual box in order to make the car more liveable and useable in the city. To help even further, the car is expected to be launched with both comfort-oriented and track-oriented suspension set ups.

The car is expected to be launched in 2013 and while the importer says that local specs and pricing will be announced closer to release date, we here at Daily Auto Fix wouldn’t mind taking one for a blast now!
