The BMW i8 production process has started and the car itself has received great feedback from early reviews and it seems that with strong pre-orders, it will be a low-volume hit.

Part of what makes the BMW i8 special are the materials used and the way they are produced in the factory. Then you move onto the energy-efficient vehicle operations and the recycling that is undertaken making the whole factory one of the most sustainable in the world.

Almost every component including the combustion and electric motors, and carbon fiber reinforced plastics are built internally by BMW Group.

The production plants that BMW i use included Moses Lake in the USA, and Wackersdor, Dingolfing, Landshut and Leipzig in Europe. So take a peek below at the BMW i8 production process.
