Earlier today Holden confirmed that the Barina CDX will be the first car in Australia with Siri Eyes Free Integration. What does this mean? Well it means that if you own a iPhone 4S or later with iOS 6 you’ll be able to ask Siri to complete tasks for them without the usual distraction of using a mobile device. Particularly great for the target market of young drivers.

Through the Holden MyLink system you’ll be able to connect your iPhone and make voice-activated calls, listen – instead of read – as well as compose iMessage/SMS messages and some other Siri related tasks such as adding Calendar appointments.

Whilst the Barina CDX launched originally with the Stitcher embedded app, the Siri integration should improve things big time for those users with an iPhone. If you own an Android device you’ll be stuck with the Stitcher app. For the customers with a Windows Phone, whilst you miss out on the Stitcher app, you’ll enjoy the built in hands free voice for calls and messages.
