Volvo announced yesterday that Australia will be a part of a pilot project for the Volvo S60 Polestar. In the same announcement they also unveiled the final production version of the Volvo S60 Polestar. Polestar, the home of motorsport and performance for Volvo, says it is a car developed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts and limited production run has been developed exclusively for us Aussies.
The S60 Polestar takes advantage of 17 years of motorsport experience and shares DNA from the 508bhp Volvo Polestar Concept Car. The six-cylinder Borg Warner turbo-charged Volvo T6 engine will produce 257kW of power and 500+Nm of torque. All of this means a 0-100km/h time of 4.9 seconds through the Polestar-tuned Haldex 4WD system.
In addition to that awesome performance, the exterior achieves awesomeness through great lines and bright colours. The aero package includes a custom developed front splitter, rear wing and diffuser. Each of which has been tweaked in Volvo’s own wind tunnel.
On the inside you’ll be greeted with a Polestar interior. Everything including the door trims, badges, gearshift knobs and even a limited edition plate on the door sills and steering wheel is Polestar branded or designed.
We at Daily Auto Fix are really excited to know that in Australia we will be the first market to receive the S60 Polestar and if everything we read is delivered on the road we hope to see it in other markets soon after.
The first units will be delivered to customers in June and we hope that we will get our chance behind the wheel of this Volvo!
