With the LCT threshold jumping from $57,466 to $59,133 Audi has announced that they will be pass on the full $500 retail price concession given by the Australian Government.

Uwe Hagen (Audi Australia’s Managing Director) said “The increase to the Luxury Car Tax threshold is good news for luxury car buyers in Australia, and therefore Audi is passing on the savings directly to our customers. We believe it’s important that our customers receive the full benefit of the LCT threshold change.”

With this move from Audi, we now wonder if other car manufacturers will also follow suit,

This move is a great step in the right direction from the Government, also from Audi (and hopefully others will follow). However the increase of the threshold doesn’t apply to the LCT threshold for fuel efficient vehicles (7.0 litres per 100km or less fuel usage) which remains at $75,375.
