Bathurst is well and truly warmed up and ready for the start of a huge weekend of racing.
This morning, practise for the Coupes and the GT3 cars started and there was no delay in getting the drama started on the mountain.
The smell of fuel, and sounds of roaring racing engines was the indication that the practise session was about to begin. Teams were ready, cars were ready and drivers were ready.
Whilst the cars were out of the track, it seemed that the Lago Racing Lamborghini decided nice and early that they were going to set the tone for the upcoming race. The previous qualifying lap record for the Bathurst track was smashed with a 2m05.9377s time clocked.
Unfortunately, as the last minutes of the practise session started to count down two red flags were interrupted the flow. Firstly the #69 Supabarn Porche spun out and not too long after, the Ferrari 458 of Vicious Rumour hit the wall following contact with a fellow Ferrari.
Making its return debut to the mountain was the Nissan Nismo GTR, finishing in the top three by the end of practise.
